Charity

703 million people in the world live without clean water.

That is nearly one in ten people worldwide. Or, twice the population of the United States. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep children out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.

On March 12, 2024 I started giving part of my revenue and gratuity to the nonprofit organization charity: water. Because access to clean water means education, income, and health – especially for women and kids.

To see how much money the “a friend in heidelberg” community already donated just click the button below. The same applies if you want to do good by helping people get access to clean water.

If you want to understand why I have become a staunch supporter, I recommend you watch the video “The Spring – The charity: water story” by clicking on the photo showing Scott Harrison, the founder of charity: water. It will most probably move you, but then again it is encouraging.
